NICKEL AND NICKEL ALLOYS

Pure Nickel 200 & 201

Nickel 200 & 201 are commercially pure (99.6%) wrought nickel with good mechanical properties and resistance to a range of corrosive media. Good electrical, and magnetostrictive properties. Used for a viariety of processing equipment, particularly to maintain product purity in handling foods, synthetic fibers, and alkalies. Nickel 201 has lower carbon content to prevent embrittlement by intergranular carbon at temperatures of 600°F (315°C). Lower carbon content also reduces hardness, making Nickel 201 particularly suitable for cold-formed items.

Inconel alloy 600

Inconel alloy 600 is a nickel-chromium alloy with good oxidation resistance at high temperatures and resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking, corrosion by high-purity water, and caustic corrosion. Used for furnace components, in chemical and food processing, in nuclear engineering, and for sparking electrodes.

Inconel alloy 625

Inconel alloy 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with an addition of niobium that acts with molybdenum to stiffen the alloy’s matrix and thereby provide high strength without a strengthening heat treatment. The alloy resists a wide range of severely corrosive environments and is especially resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. It is commonly used in chemical processing, aerospace and marine engineering, pollution-control equipment, and nuclear reactors.

Hastelloy B-3

Hastelloy B-3 alloy is an additional member of the nickel-molybdenum family of alloys with excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures. It also withstands sulfuric, acetic, formic and phosphoric acids, and other nonoxidizing media.

Alloy C-276/ Hastelloy C-276

Alloy C-276 is a nickel=molybdenum-chromium alloy with an addition of tungsten having excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of severe environments. The high molybdenum content makes the alloy especially resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. The low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation during welding to maintain corrosion resistance in as-welded structures. It is widely used in pollution control, chemical processing, pulp and paper production, and waste treatment.

HASTELLOY C-22

HASTELLOY C-22 alloy is a versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with better overall corrosion resistance than other Ni-Cr-Mo alloys available. It has outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. It has excellent resistance to oxidizing aqueous media including wet chlorine and mixtures containing nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chloride ions. Also, C-22 alloy offers optimum resistance to environments where reducing and oxidizing conditions are encountered in process streams.

HASTELLOY C-2000

HASTELLOY C-2000 alloy is able to resist an extensive range of corrosive chemicals, including sulfuric, hydrochloric, and hydrofluoric acids. C-2000 alloy extends corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing acid environments. The combination of molybdenum and copper provide the outstanding resistance to reducing media, while oxidizing acid resistance is provided by a high chromium content.

Incoloy 800

Incoloy 800 is a nickel-chromium alloy with good strength and excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization in high-temperature atmospheres. It also resists corrosion by many aqueous environments. The alloy maintains a stable, austenitic structure during prolonged exposure to high temperatures. It is commonly used for process piping, heat exchangers, carburizing equipment, heating-element sheathing, and nuclear steam-generator tubing.

Incoloy 825

Incoloy 825 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum and copper. It has excellent resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids, to stress-corrsion cracking, and to localized attack such as pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy is especially resistant to sulfuric and phosphoric acids. It is used for chemical processing, pollution-control equipment, oil and gas well piping, nuclear fuel reprocessing, acid production, and pickling equipment.
